Street stalls

Street stalls are used for selling goods and services as well as promotion in public areas. Street stalls are temporary activities limited to specific areas, days and times.

Lake Macquarie City Council recognises the need for street stalls for the promotion of businesses within the community, whilst ensuring our public spaces are accessible to all.

To operate a street stall in Lake Macquarie a permit is required. You will need to lodge an application under the Local Approvals Policy(PDF, 827KB).

Step 1.Location

Council has a list of pre-approved street stall locations. Please include a copy of the pre-approved site plan for your chosen site with your application documentation.

While we encourage you to select a pre-approved site, new locations may be applied for an additional fee. Applications for new sites will be considered on merit, but approval is not guaranteed. The application fee is non-refundable should the proposed site be assessed as not suitable for a street stall. Please contact Council on 4921 0333 for advice before submitting an application for a new site.
