Smart Beaches

MR Lifeguards18.jpg

Smart Beaches uses high-tech sensors and other smart infrastructure to provide immediate, constant condition reports specific to each beach by the trial project, filling in gaps left by existing surfing and weather apps and websites.

Trial beaches include Redhead and Blacksmiths in Lake Macquarie, and Manly and Shelly in the Northern Beaches Council LGA.

The project received $910,000 in funding under Round Two of the Australian Government’s Smart Cities and Suburbs Program.
