 You can register your pet online at petregistry.nsw.gov.au, or at service.nsw.gov.au using your MyServiceNSW Account login.

Gather your documents

To register your pet, you'll need the following:

  • Certificate of Identification, which you receive when your pet is microchipped
  • Completed NSW Companion Animals Register Lifetime Registration form
  • Photo ID
  • Pensioner Concession Card, if you’re a pensioner wishing to claim a discounted registration fee
  • Desexing Certificate, if your pet is desexed and you’re wishing to claim a discounted registration fee

Send a copy of your documents and a cheque for the correct amount to Lake Macquarie City Council, Box 1906, HRMC, NSW, 2310

In person

Change of owner

If you sell or give your pet to a new owner, you need to complete a change of owner/details form. You can return it by:

  • Post to Lake Macquarie City Council, Box 1906, HRMC, NSW, 2310
  • Email to council@lakemac.nsw.gov.au
  • In person at our Customer Service Centre, 126-138 Main Road, Speers Point
